FadeNot is Special FX Lighting’s proprietary liquid color coating, originally developed in the 1980s and continuously refined for performance and durability. This advanced coating system can be formulated to match virtually any color—or combination of colors—making it highly versatile for a wide range of lighting applications.

The name “FadeNot” reflects the coating’s stability. Using organic pigments, FadeNot maintains color integrity at sustained operating temperatures up to 225°F, ensuring long-lasting performance in demanding environments.

FadeNot coatings can be applied to commercial-grade polycarbonate, acrylic, PMMA, and other plastics. These filters are suitable for both wet and dry locations and are compatible with most LED fixtures, including strips, PAR cans, track lighting, and outdoor applications.

How to Specify

To ensure accurate quoting and production, please include:

• Material: Polycarbonate or Acrylic

• Application: Wet or Dry Location

• Size: Dimensions or diameters (up to 24”)

• Thickness: 20 mil, 30 mil, or rigid (.125”+)

• Color:

  • Any theatrical or dichroic color reference

  • Custom color combinations

  • Kelvin shift or color correction targets

  • Physical samples (for matching)

We recommend mocking up colors in the field whenever possible to confirm final selection.

Lead Times

• Standard orders: 2-4 weeks from receipt of Purchase Order

• Custom non supplied parts: 6 weeks+

• Customer-supplied materials: Lead time begins upon receipt
